Compliance Requirements

We require that all partners have pages that are compliant with the highest standards for the personal loans industry. As such, below are necessary updates to your pages before we will allow a partner to launch with our API. All new partners must provide Even with screenshots of the user experience from application to results page so that we can approve the entire experience on behalf of the lenders we work with:

Loan Term

Partners must display the minimum and maximum term of the loan offers they present to users. Even Financial’s partners have loan terms that range from 24-84 months.


The rates of our lenders are from 4.83-36% APR. All landing pages must clearly show the APR range on their page for consumers to see. Note that APR does not equal Interest Rate, and the word APR must be used in all references to rates.

Additionally, partners should place the following language regarding APR on their pages to inform users about what the APR represents.

APR Disclosure:

The Annual Percentage Rate is the rate at which your loan accrues interest. It is based upon the amount of your loan, cost of the loan, term of the loan, repayment amounts and timing of payments and payoff. By law, the lender and partner must show you the APR before you enter into the loan. States have laws limiting the APR that the lender or partner can charge you. Rates will vary based on your credit, loan size and whether collateral is provided, with the lowest rates available to customers with good credit on larger, secured loans. Minimum and maximum loan amounts and APR may vary according to state law and lender or partners. We recommend you read the lender’s and partner’s personal terms and conditions in full before proceeding for a personal loan.

Creative Language

DO’s – Use language such as

  • “Get Personal Loan Offers” or “Get Personalized Loan Offers” or “Shop and Compare Loan Offers”
  • “How Much Would you like to Borrow?”
  • “Funds as soon as next business day”
  • “No impact to your credit score”
  • “Rates between 4.82-36% based on your credit profile”
  • “No collateral needed”
  • “Loans for Debt Consolidation, Home Improvement, Large Purchases, Cars, Vacations, Weddings, and more!”
  • “Consolidate your debts into one monthly payment”
  • “One Form, Multiple Offers”
  • “We DO NOT match consumers with any type of payday loans, short term loans, or cash advances.”

DON’Ts – Use language such as

  • “Get Cash”
  • “Get Pre-Approved” or “Instant Pre-Approval” or “Guaranteed Approval”
  • “Money in 24 hours or less”
  • “Loans for ANY Purpose”
  • “We lend you money”

Required Example on Page

All partners must have an example of the payment term. Sample text is below:

Representative Example: If you borrow $5,000 on a 3 year repayment term and at a 10% APR, the monthly repayment will be $161.34. Total repayment will be $5,808.24. Total interest paid will be $808.24.

Required Terms and Conditions

Even and its lending partners require that the user agree to all terms below before submitting their information to receive loan offers.

The following terms and restrictions must be visible to borrowers and have highlighted links in the Accepted Terms and Conditions (Even’s examples are below):

Additionally, language around the Fair Credit Reporting Act and TCPA must be provided.

The entire check box section should look like this:

I understand my consent is not required as a condition to purchasing any goods or services from anyone.

Users must check a box to accept the Terms and Conditions before seeing their offers.

Loan Offer Display

We require that all supply-sources show the following information on the results page for returned loan offers:

  • Lender (Name or Logo)
  • Loan offer term (number of months)
  • Loan offer APR (as a percentage)
  • Loan offer monthly payment ($)
  • Total cost of loan offer ($)
  • Lender Disclaimer (can be one click away or at bottom of results page)
  • Loan offer URL

For static / non-prequalified loan offers, supply-sources need to show a range of APRs and indicate that the monthly payment is based on the lower APR range. An example of how a static / non-prequalified loan offer should look is below:

Lender-specific requests:

  • Upstart’s APR should have an asterisk displayed next to it and a link from that asterisk to the disclaimer

We require that all supply-sources show the following information on the results page for all special offers:

  • Offer title (e.g. “Resolve Your Debt”)
  • Advertiser Logo
  • Description of Offer
  • Special Offer URL
